My friend Debi
I’ve known you for more than thirty years
And we have laughed a river of tears
We met at work and the feeling was strong
I knew our friendship would be lifelong
You are unique and bring sunshine to all you touch
You care, love life and people so much
You’re a wonderful mother and wife and friend
You're a person on whom so many depend
You're a giver and so selfless it's a joy to see
I’m so grateful you're a friend to me
You see humour in everything in life
Whether it's fun or whether it’s strife
You’re strong and resilient and will bounce back
No matter what lies ahead on the track
This poem was written in order to send
my love to you,
my Forever Friend.
